We are adding a Supply Chain Specialist to our team, to support our Power and Industrial markets, due to growth and a strong backlog of work. In this role, candidates are heavily involved in the full life cycle of supply chain management for vendors and subcontractors. Supply Chain Specialists manage the complete life cycle of the procurement process from RFP through final delivery and contract closeout.
One of the key components of the job is to develop, review, negotiate & manage contracts with suppliers, as well as being a key point of contact for suppliers and the project team. Responsibilities include managing assigned vendors and the process, to ensure materials, equipment or services are provided on time and within budget.

LocationThis position is based out of our office in Lenexa, Kansas. We are not offering relocation for this position.
Responsibilities- Develop, review and negotiate terms and conditions of supplier contracts. Manage supplier contracts and supplier relationships, to ensure our suppliers meet our standards, specifications and client requirements.
- Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities and the supplier’s reputation and history.
- Ensure material buyers are purchasing the highest quality materials at the lowest possible cost in correct amounts per specifications and drawings. Manage the life cycle of the items you are procuring for your project.
- Prepare/issue Request for Proposals (RFP’s) and evaluate vendor/subcontractor proposals to identify vendors/subcontractors who meet project constraints of budget and schedule at the estimating, execution and site purchasing levels.
- Assist in the development of company-wide procurement templates.
- Leverage vendors/subcontractors across multiple procurements to create cost savings to projects.
- Confer with staff, users and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action.
- Utilize logistics team in monitoring shipments to ensure goods come in on time and resolve problems related to undelivered goods.
- Assist in negotiating high-risk contracts for various projects.
- Work to resolve escalated, complex, or disputed contract issues for your project & support procurement staff meetings and provide legal communication to the team as needed.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management or related field with at least 5+ years’ experience in contracts & supply chain functions.
