Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Structural Practice Lead - Hydraulic Structures to grow our practice. The position can be based in one of our offices in Phoenix, AZ, Portland, OR, Dallas, TX, Houston, TX, Boston, MA, Louisville, KY, Pittsburgh, PA, or Indianapolis, IN, or remotely across the U.S. The role offers hybrid or fully remote work options at the company's discretion.
The ideal candidate will have a Civil Engineering degree with a specialization in structural engineering and at least 10 years of relevant experience. The role involves providing technical expertise and collaborating with dam engineering professionals to expand our national Dams and Hydraulic Structures Engineering practice, working on projects involving embankment and concrete dams, spillways, outlet works, conveyance systems, and related structures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Dams and Hydraulic Structures practice and other engineering teams nationwide to lead business development, including developing regional strategies, establishing client relationships, and preparing proposals.
- Provide technical leadership in dam safety inspections, structural evaluations, risk analyses, rehabilitation design, and construction services.
- Lead dam safety reviews for mining and water dams.
- Mentor technical staff and support staff development and recruitment.
- Ensure projects meet technical, budget, schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability goals.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (required).
- Advanced degree (preferred).
- Professional registration (PE or SE) (required).
- Minimum 10 years (15+ preferred) of relevant dam engineering experience.
- Knowledge of regulations and guidelines like ASDSO, USSD, FERC (preferred).
- Experience with RIDM methodologies (preferred).
- Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and as Engineer of Record (preferred).
- Willingness to perform fieldwork and travel.
- Proven success in client development and management.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license; clean driving record.
