Risk Consultant, Property Field Engineer

Overview

Risk Consultant, Property Field Engineer – Michigan. This position will provide risk consulting services for large property loss control and natural hazards evaluation in the Southeast region. The role requires applying a robust engineering background and practical experience to identify and mitigate property fire and Nat Cat risk exposures for a broad range of project types and customers. This is a remote role that will support Michigan clients and travel is anticipated to be 20-25%.

• Review commercial property protection, including fire protection and water supply analysis
• Conduct onsite visits to assess property and Nat Cat exposures and develop detailed reports to relay conditions and provide recommendations for improvement
• Analyze building construction, fire protection features, process operations and special hazards
• Work with the network of specialized engineers of AXA XL Risk Consulting to serve clients
• Build credibility and customer satisfaction by demonstrating the value of risk engineering services
• Serve the Southeast Region and support insured and non-insured clients; travel is anticipated to be 20-25%

• Experience with Large Property sites
• Robust working knowledge of NFPA Codes, FM Data Sheets, and local requirements
• Robust working knowledge of fire protection or willingness to learn
• Engineering or Science based undergraduate degree;
  Chemical Engineering preferred
• Ability to apply industry experience to a broad range of customers and projects, consult effectively on property risk controls, and identify exposures/assess controls on complex risks
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate with underwriters and customers; ability to make sound assessments based on procedures, documents, discussions, and observations
• Ability to translate technical information into understandable recommendations for diverse audiences
• Self-starter with ability to manage schedule and resources in a remote work environment
• Team player, proactive across lines of business, and able to work with internal and external partners on special projects
• Valid driver’s license required
