Position Description

We are seeking a senior project manager with expertise in water resources engineering or a discipline of aquatic restoration science to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience and education in a core discipline relevant to water resources restoration such as water resources engineering, fluvial geomorphology, fisheries biology, stream ecology, aquatic habitat biology, watershed hydrology, or ecology. The candidate should have experience designing and managing river, estuarine, and wetland restoration projects as well as a firm understanding of river and wetland ecosystem processes.

The candidate should also be able to assist in various aspects of data collection, analysis, design, and implementation. These projects include dam removal, aquatic habitat restoration, wetlands assessment, floodplain restoration, watershed analysis, estuary restoration, and others.

Work Schedule

We currently operate on a hybrid schedule where employees are expected to be in the office at least 3 days a week, Monday – Friday. Employees may elect to work from home up to 2 days a week when job duties allow (e.g. field work and in person meetings take precedence.)

This position may include field work and travel of up to 7 days at a time.

Required Qualifications

  • Postgraduate or Bachelor’s degree in core water resources discipline,a minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience, and professional licensure in area of expertise.
  • Technical expertise in the practice of aquatic science or water resources engineering as it applies to river restoration, and proven experience of continued technical growth in the discipline.
  • Passion for aquatic ecosystem science and for restoration of aquatic systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally with large teams including internal team members, clients, teaming partners, the general public, and diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Experience managing multiple small to large-sized projects, including preparation and management of scopes, schedules, and budgets from proposal submittal through completion of the project.
  • Excellent delegation skills and ability to communicate clear expectations to project teams.
  • Ability to review and guide the work of less experienced staff working within a similar discipline.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively both as part of a team and independently.
  • Experience completing technical elements of restoration projects such as fieldwork, data analysis, design computations, and construction observation.
