Lead Systems Engineer
As the Lead Systems Engineer, you will be the technical engineering leader for several of Allegion’s product platforming subsystems that are used in door devices, locks, and access control systems for the Residential or Commercial environments. In this role, you will lead a team of cross-functional product development engineers and be responsible for overall definition, architecture development, requirements, and system integration activities that span software, firmware, electrical, and mechanical design components.
You will be primarily focused on product development and product life cycle activities within the platform engineering team focused on electronics.

What You Will Do
- Work with platforming, engineering, and business leaders to define requirements that meet customer, marketing, and internal stakeholder needs
- Work directly with the technical program manager to plan and communicate budget, resources, and schedule throughout the program
- Coordinate creation of engineering development timelines and track development activities to meet delivery and cost commitments
- Lead Risk Management for engineering deliverables
- Lead Technical Design Reviews at all product development process milestones highlighting engineering progress, issues, and risks
- Present design trade-offs as necessary to ensure the highest level of product performance and quality when considering product cost, manufacturability, and available technologies
- Ensure designs meet requirements (functional, cost, quality, reliability, etc.) and that requirement risks are evaluated and mitigated early in the process
- Lead problem-solving activities utilizing the appropriate tools, such as fault-tree analysis, 5-why analysis, and fishbone diagrams to get to the root cause
- Provide clear communications to technical team members as well as to other leaders and managers
- BS in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
