Remote Structural Engineer

Overview

Remote Civil Engineer position to provide actionable intelligence for tough questions about property and property contents. The role involves supporting testing labs and fire investigations as part of a team delivering solutions to industry challenges.

Base pay range: $/yr - $/yr (actual pay based on skills and experience). This Jobot posting is hosted by Jennifer Thomas.

• Conduct site studies evaluating damages to building materials or components for residential and commercial structures, including roof systems, foundations, water intrusion, cladding elements, construction defects, and complete structural systems.
• Write technical reports that provide detailed findings and conclusions from completed site investigations.
• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
• On occasion, provide expert testimony or depositions on projects; our company has a dedicated Litigation Department to support project managers.
• Proactively pursue additional training, mentoring opportunities, licenses, education, and/or certifications (cost covered by Company).
• Travel may be required for work outside of the home region; daily and overnight in-region travel may also be required to facilitate investigations.

• BS Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, etc.).
• Registered as an active Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Connecticut.
• Active NCEES record (or eligible to obtain within 90 days of employment).
• 2–3 years of experience in failure analysis, forensic or structural inspection, knowledge of residential/commercial construction, building codes, design, or related experience is highly preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Strong technical writing abilities with experience using Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
