Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Cyber Systems Engineer (Level
2) OR Principal Cyber Systems Engineer (Level
3) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test and Evaluation organization.
This role is located in Melbourne, FL.
As a Cyber Systems Engineer, you will be part of a team encompassing the full product lifecycle of a software development and test environment using your knowledge of operating system administration, web app design, and security monitoring tools. Key Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain availability of instrumentation data network and instrumentation data center.
- Collecting and reporting system data metrics.
- Ensure systems adhere to program configuration and data management plans.
- Providing software maintenance and installing software upgrades and patches.
- Maintain active licenses, maintenance contracts and warrantees.
Basic Qualifications:
This requisition may be filled at a
Cyber Systems Engineer (Level
2) or Principal Cyber Systems Engineer (Level
3) level based on the qualifications below.
Cyber Systems Engineer (Level
2)
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 2 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related professional/military experience.
- Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
- Must be willing and able to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status
- Demonstrated experience in the managing operating systems, e.g., (Windows Sever and/or desktop environments).
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance,
prior to the commencement of employment.
Must possess a current DoD 8570 Level 2 Certification (i.e. Security+ CEor equivalent).
Principal Cyber Systems Engineer (Level
3)
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 5 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline and 1 year of related professional/military experience.
- Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
- Must be willing and able to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance,

Demonstrated experience in the managing operating systems, e.g., (Windows Sever and/or desktop environments).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in implementing access controls and utilizing monitoring tools to detect and respond to security incidents.
- Proficiency in the administration of web applications with a focus on the identification and resolution of performance issues.
- Experience working with Dev Ops Processes and Cloud Infrastructure
- Experience with Splunk, Nessus, and/or Solar Winds
- Experience with Atlassian, Jira, Coverity, and Fortify
- Active Top Secret Clerance
- Systems administration experience, to include VMWare, vSphere, VDI, and ESX
- Understanding of enterprise-level computing platforms involving virtualization, distribution and high availability
- Possess either the VCP - Virtual Cloud Practitioner certification (DCV preferred) or the VCAP certification in VMware.
