POWER is seeking a Senior Substation Project Manager to lead complex utility projects from kickoff through closeout. In this hybrid role, you'll split your time between our King of Prussia office, client on-site meetings, and remote work. This is a high-impact opportunity to oversee substation projects that drive the power industry forward—while building trusted client relationships and ensuring safe, high-quality delivery.
You'll Do
- Lead Substation Projects: Manage full lifecycle—engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
- Project Documentation: Ensure contracts, requisitions, Bills of Material, Task Authorizations, and Engineering Work Requests are complete and accurate.
- Financial Oversight: Monitor project budgets, prepare capital expenditure authorizations, initiate revisions when needed, and track contractor resources.
- Planning & Scheduling: Collaborate with Portfolio/Work Management teams to develop, maintain, and update schedules. Review/approve project plans and validate cost estimates.
- Leadership & Communication: Provide regular updates to management sponsors and client leadership teams, ensuring scope, budget, and schedules remain aligned with tactical and strategic goals.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee QA/QC programs, review contractor-provided procedures, and ensure compliance with standards.
- Project Closeout: Coordinate documentation, audits, and benefit realization to confirm objectives have been achieved.
- Bachelor's degree (Engineering or related discipline)
- 10+ years of utility substation experience
- Strong project management skills with proven ability to handle multiple complex tasks
- Experience with project organization, engineering, finance, planning, or project controls
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
- Collaborative, team-oriented mindset
- PMP certification (completed or in progress)
- Proficiency with project management tools (Primavera, MS Project, Deltek Vantagepoint, or similar)
- Advanced knowledge of project controls
