Overview
Technical Field Advisor (TFA) role at NAES Corporation. NAES provides technical direction and advisory services supporting fleet equipment installation, start up and major overhaul services. The TFA is the field liaison between customer, equipment conditions, and engineering support, providing technical field direction and professional opinions on heavy industrial equipment (e.g., gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, compressors, pumps, motors). The TFA also participates in planning, scheduling, and defining projects and scopes of work.
PrimaryDuties
- Provide Advisory Services and Technical Direction for major maintenance start-up and commissioning projects
- Project planning, scheduling, and estimating for assigned work or in support of sales opportunities
- Complete status reports and technical reports (e.g., recording on critical measurements)
- Provide professional guidance related to critical measurements and acceptance criteria major as defined by OEMs or based on industry best practice
- Participate in project planning and project execution meetings
- Maintain awareness of NAES site safety program and ensure procedures are followed during all work activities
- Support business development activities to contribute to customer satisfaction
- NAES TFAs report to department heads within the Engineered Performance Division
The initial annual compensation will range from $178,900 to $205,750 based on experience and qualifications.
Job Qualifications- Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education or equivalent. Engineering degree is preferred. Relevant work experience and technical competencies may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis

10+ years of relevant work experience - Preferred Experience: Providing technical advice and direction for heavy industrial rotating equipment. Specific experience with gas turbines, steam turbines and generators; experience with major OEM equipment (GE, Siemens, Westinghouse, Alstom) is preferred
- Licenses/Certification: OSHA safety certifications and other relevant licenses and certifications. Preferably OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certified
- Software/Equipment Knowledge: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. Preferred experience with Microsoft Project
Work hours are dependent on project plan and may include weekend work, alternate shifts and extended hours. Ground and air travel is required for this position. Ability to travel up to 50-60% is required. Work is performed at an established home office environment or headquarters, and on industrial sites requiring protective clothing and equipment. Work can occur around industrial hazards, in areas of high noise, and around new construction.
Physical mobility to traverse stairways, ladders, grating, and uneven terrain is essential. Ability to see, hear, read, and react to warning signs, lights, and alarms are essential.
