- Understand in detail the SAP and CAD Bill of Materials structures across multiple PECVD products and configurations, specifically Carbon and Strata products.
- Work with subsystem engineers, manufacturing group, and Product Management to define subsystem BOM structure, part numbers, and quantities, and determine the optimal way to structure the overall product BOM to maximize modularity, reusability, and manufacturability.
- Manage, create, and submit change orders and releases of new BOMs and changes to existing BOMs, ensuring proper structure, part numbers, and quantities.
- Manage, create, and submit nonstandard requests and custom configurations, including field upgrades.
- Ensure CAD BOM structures match released SAP BOM configurations.
- Collaborate across product teams to identify opportunities for modularity, subsystem commonality, and part reuse.
- Identify opportunities to improve business processes related to BOM management.
- Contribute to defining additional roles and responsibilities for this new position.
- Associates degree or higher with a minimum of 3 years of related experience in a technical field such as mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, electrical engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in PDM/PLM systems and spreadsheet software.
- Familiarity with 3D MCAD design tools (e.g., CREO/ProE).
- Experience with configuration/systems engineering and related system assembly, including BOM structure, product configuration management and release.
- Ability to manage project timelines to align with the company wide BOM release cadence.
- Extremely detail oriented and thorough in execution.
- Ability to work with engineers across multiple disciplines to understand how subsystem BOMs interact.
- Ability to manipulate and build CAD assemblies to determine component or sub-assembly compatibilities and interdependencies for large-scale assembly structures for a given product.
- Project management skills.
- Strong communications skills including ability to generate progress tracking reports.
- Bill of Materials Management with familiarity with using database applications, e.g., SAP.
- Basic understanding of engineering and product development principles.
- Working understanding of product manufacturing principles and business processes.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine on-site collaboration with flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. On-site Flex requires 3+ days on-site per week with remote work possible for the balance. Virtual Flex requires 1-2 days on-site per week with remote work the rest of the time.
