Overview
In the Advanced Manufacturing Group, we deliver cost-effective and transformative projects to various markets. We are looking for an experienced, high-energy HVAC Engineer to join our Building Mechanical team and help deliver innovative HVAC design solutions for our heavy industrial clients. You will work with engineers and designers performing field investigations, interfacing with clients and vendors, sizing and selecting equipment, and preparing construction design packages.
You will be accountable for the schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks as you gain familiarity with the client’s expectations, scope, budget, and schedule.
- Layout and design of HVAC systems
- Development of the design criteria for the HVAC systems, including general comfort heating and cooling, precise temperature/humidity control, unique pressurization requirements, and/or cleanliness requirements for clean room applications
- Development of conceptual and preliminary design documents, including sizing calculations, Air Flow Diagrams (AFDs), Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and general arrangements
- Development of final design documents including specifications, sequences of operation, duct/piping layouts, and final construction documents for systems such as chilled water and cooling water
- Coordination with other disciplines
- Professional Engineering License
- At least ten (10) years of experience designing HVAC systems for industrial facilities
- Thorough knowledge of codes and standards related to HVAC design
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines
- Ability to lead a building mechanical team on a project and collaborate with other discipline team members remotely
- Software experience in Revit, Carrier HAP, Trane Trace 700, and Trane Trace 3D
- Experience in the design of plumbing/utility systems
Salary and Benefits
The base pay range for this position is $ to $ per year. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience and may vary by location. Jacobs also offers health and welfare benefits, 401(k), stock purchase options, and other programs.
