Electrical Engineer 3 – Sargent & Lundy
Hybrid arrangement with mix of work from home and in‑office.
OverviewDesign engineering position in Electrical Engineering, offering career advancement in a nuclear environment.
Responsibilities- Participate in electrical design on multi‑disciplined project team.
- Produce engineering calculations, analyses, and reports.
- Prepare design inputs for drawings: site plans, power & lighting plans, one‑line diagrams, assembly drawings, conduit & wire runs, wiring diagrams, elementary diagrams.
- Apply electrical expertise to design & qualification of structures, systems, and components.
- Produce procurement and construction specifications.
- Attend project meetings and perform field walk‑downs.
- Mentor less experienced engineers.
- Must be US citizen (dual citizenship with non‑US does not qualify).
- Must obtain US Government security clearance.
- BSEE or MSEE from ABET‑accredited program.
- 3+ years progressive responsible experience in electrical engineering, ideally nuclear.
- Experience designing low‑to‑medium voltage distribution systems and instrumentation wiring.
- Experience with NEC, UL508, electrical codes, and IES Lighting Handbook.
- Proficiency in load flow / arc flash analysis (ETAP, SKM Power Tools).
- Proficiency in lighting analysis software (Visual, AGI‑32).
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE/EIT) certificate.
- DOE, commercial, or Navy experience.
- Field engineering and construction experience.
