Blue World is looking for an individual with at least five years’ experience (preferably 7-10 years) that has previous federal project experience working with one of the larger federal agencies to include NPS, DOD, USACE, or BOI/USDA, to join our team as a Project Coordinator/Staff Engineer to start immediately in our Houston, Texas office. The position will be responsible for project management support on our federal projects, including submittals, shop drawings, project estimating/REAs/RFIs, project set-up, daily project management, subcontractor paperwork, safety, commissioning, and project closeout.

The compensation for this position is commensurate with experience applicable to the types of projects we work on.

• Construction Experience – 5 years minimum; federal job experience is MUST with references required for review and consideration.
• Field Experience - a MUST in the areas of heavy site/civil, process systems, remediation, water treatment/wastewater construction
• Position is based out of Houston, TX, and will support projects in Texas and the Southwest Region. From time-to-time support to our other offices in NJ and AZ will be required.
• Travel is required. Work in the office or onsite with field staff is required 5 days per week. This is not a flexible/work from home position because of the importance of interaction with the senior team members as well as field teams. Some field work will be required.
• Ideally have experience with AutoCAD and be able to develop or modify civil drawings, mechanical drawings, PFDs and P&IDs and even electrical schematics with little guidance or supervision. The ability to actually ‘engineer’ details and drawings and think the process through is a key factor in the ability to successfully work in this position, rather than an individual that just ‘draws.’
• Valid driver’s license – required and in good standing.
• Position requires very motivated individual that is not afraid to do field work and learn with their hands rather than watching/oversight.

• Position requires field time and office time.
• Will manage individual projects and work directly with client and superintendents.
• Excellent writing skills are necessary for this position. Technical writing samples must be provided during the interview process for assessment.
• Other responsibilities include preparation of submittals, schedules, project bids, project estimates, daily logs, procurement, subcontractor management, and support to project superintendents.
• Goal for this position is grow into a solid project managerial role that is both technically competent and understands the trials/tribulations of construction/field work.
• Travel is required to surrounding states.
• Position requires strong aptitude with AutoCAD in 2D and also ability to use 3D versions.

• Required bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably civil or mechanical, or Construction Management; other Bachelor’s Degrees (business/accounting or science) may be considered if the candidate has the required federal project construction experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in preferably civil or mechanical projects and field experience is required on federal jobs is a MUST. Experience will be verified, references are required.
• Office schedule 8am – 5pm, Monday thru Friday;
  Field schedule 7am – 4pm, Monday thru Friday
