Overview
Lead Aerodynamics Engineer ed in Sidney, OH. Responsible for developing aero flow paths for a lineup of new commercial compressors and driving aerodynamic design, CFD analysis, manufacturing support, and product performance assessment for HVACR applications.
Responsibilities- Conduct aerodynamics design and CFD analysis of centrifugal compressors.
- Develop robust workflows and scripts for automated CFD workflows.
- Coordinate with suppliers, partners, labs, compressor engineers, and manufacturing to deliver prototypes, samples, and mass production products.
- Review outsourced work scope with third-party consultants.
- Design experiments and validation procedures (analytical and empirical) for compressors.
- Apply Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly to reduce cost and cycle time.
- Interact with cross-functional teams to drive robust technical decisions.
- Work with Engineering, labs, Planning/Project Management, Marketing, Advanced Manufacturing, and other groups.
- Lead performance/laboratory testing for new design components and organize/document analyses and test programs.
- Define project scope and requirements for phase gate approval; lead scope, costs, and schedule for technical projects.
- Communicate clearly and precisely at all levels of the organization and with clients.

Required Education, Experience & Skills- Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent plus minimum two (2) years of experience in aerodynamic design of centrifugal compressors/turbo machinery.
- Or PhD with equivalent academic research/work experiences.
- Working knowledge of compressors and associated systems.
- Experience designing/analyzing compressor components (inlets, impellers, diffusers, volutes) using 1-D/2-D/3-D tools.
- Familiar with high-speed rotors, bearings, gas seal systems, thrust load calculation.
- Experience with CFD programs; programming knowledge in Python (or equivalent).
- CAD experience (NX, Solid Works, AutoCAD and/or Pro/E).
- Strong understanding of Aerodynamics and Thermodynamics; proven cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to work well in a team and independently with minimal supervision.
This role is based fully onsite and not eligible for hybrid or remote work opportunities.
