About the Protection and Control Engineer - Lead position in Substation, Protection, and Control Team.
Control Point Technologies is seeking a Lead Protection and Control Engineer to provide project support within our Substation Protection and Control Engineering team.
Candidates must have direct experience with substation protection and control projects for electric utilities, ranging from 4 kV to 345 kV. The role involves client‑facing interactions and interface with other disciplines. Project management skills and the ability to meet critical deadlines are required. The ideal candidate is an outgoing team player who can inspire client confidence.
Technical Responsibilities- One‑Line diagrams
- Three‑Line diagrams
- AC and DC schematics
- SCADA/RTU system design
- Panel layouts and wiring
- Bill of Material development
- Coordination with other disciplines (Civil/Structural, Substation)
- Relay settings experience is a plus
- Project Engineering Lead
- Provide guidance and mentorship within engineering and design team
- Ensure team consistency with design standards
- Perform quality control/assurance reviews
- Project support from scoping to final design and project closeout
- Construction support
- Strong client focus and customer service
- Excellent communication skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Professional Engineering Licensure (PE) is required; applicants with Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) on the path to licensure are accepted
- Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in the electric utility industry
- Experience in utility substation engineering with a focus on design packages
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
