Position Overview - Responsible for support of Kansas City sales office which includes Proposal Drawings, Customer Site Visits, Project Pricing Estimates, Project Management and General Support of Sales and Engineering Efforts.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – Project Sales Engineer

• Provide exceptional customer service through clear, consistent communication and regular project updates
• Gather project information via site visits, phone, and electronic communication
• Create clear, objective-based sales proposals with accurate estimates, scope of work, and supporting drawings (HyCAD or AutoCAD)
• Evaluate system designs and propose layout improvements for better process flow and integration
• Specify, order, and manage all mechanical, electrical, and ancillary equipment for projects
• Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and installation teams (mechanical and electrical)
• Choose appropriate vendors and installers based on project needs
• Assist with order entry for the outside sales team
• Make sound decisions regarding small equipment changes in collaboration with manufacturers
• Understand equipment applications to identify and resolve system challenges
• Collaborate with sales team and Systems Group on proposals, quoting, and project coordination
• Travel to job sites as required

TECHNICAL/COMPUTER SKILLS

Required Computer

Skills:

Excel, Word, Outlook, Internet

Proficient user of presentation tools (MS PowerPoint)

Proficient user of AutoCAD, minimum 2 years experience

Technical degree preferred

Material Handling Automation, minimum 2 – 5 years experience

SKILLS REQUIRED

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Able to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Strong organization, time management, and problem-solving capabilities

Self-motivated and ability to multitask

ENVIRONMENTAL/PHYSICAL FACTORS

This position works approximately 50% in a home office and 50% visits to customer facilities.

Overnight travel may be required, but would be less than 10%.

This position requires, at times, to work in a warehouse environment.
