The Field Service Engineer II will support customers, ensuring the reliability of our diagnostic instruments. Based in Durham, North Carolina, the role reports to the Regional Field Service Manager and is ideal for those who thrive in a fast‑paced, travel‑intensive environment.

• Provide installation support, maintenance, modification, and repair on 1-2 groups of mechanical, electromechanical, electronic, and/or refrigeration instruments.
• Document and complete service administration activities in a timely manner to follow ISO, FDA, and Leica policies.
• Actively support the sale of service contracts, assist sales representatives and service team members with system configurations/upgrades, and provide feedback to improve financial performance and generate service revenue.

• Associate’s degree with 3+ years of field service experience or related field; or Bachelor’s Degree in Science with 1+ year of experience or related field; or equivalent military experience.

• Ability to travel up to 90%, including frequent overnight stays.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift, move, or carry equipment up to 50 lb.

• Diagnosing and repairing medical devices, electromechanical equipment, or scientific instruments.
• Field Service Engineering and/or networking/IT system upgrades.
• Experience in a lab or hospital environment.

Hourly Rate: $30.00 – $43.00. This is the best estimate of compensation for this role at the time of posting. The range may be modified in the future. The role is also eligible for bonus and incentive pay.
