Expleo is a leading Global Engineering Services Provider with UK presence in 10 locations. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to work with our client; the role is primarily remote with occasional attendance at Barnstaple, delivering cable designs using E3 Zuken. The successful candidate should have experience designing cables for hostile environments such as marine defence or rail.

We are looking for an energetic and driven engineer with broad expertise; preference is given to candidates with marine, military, or rail experience (in that order).

This role offers an almost entirely remote work environment, contributing to the security of the UK and our allies. • Design of cables using E3 Zuken
• Selection of components and materials as needed to meet the specifications
• Creation of parts for the parts library as needed
• Output of drawings/Bo Ms

• Appropriate qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related discipline (e.g., ONC/HNC or higher)

• E3 Zuken
• Configuration management such as Palma/Team Centre or Windchill
• Ability to effectively communicate engineering issues and concepts both verbally and written, and to present and explain technical problems tailored appropriately for stakeholders
• Reporting of progress to senior management teams, tailoring the message delivery to the audience
• Ability to take ownership and work on own initiative, seeking out answers to gain a good understanding of system functionality

• Experience of connector types for military applications and/or hostile environments
• Experience of cable types for hostile environments
• Experience of methods and/or techniques to ruggedise cables
• Marine, Defence, Rail or similar experience
• Ability to work across the full Engineering Development Lifecycle

• UK sole National
• BPSS Cleared
• Able to obtain SC clearance
• Willingness to travel occasionally to the client site in Barnstaple
