Description:
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team s is a full‑time position offering a competitive compensation and benefits package with a 401K match. As a member of the electrical team you will work in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment and report to the Electrical Team Lead. Flexible work schedules include every other Friday off and the ability to periodically work from a home office.
Compensation: $60,000 - $110,000. Anticipated annual salary may vary based on skills, experience, qualifications and internal peer equity.
Position SummaryThe Electrical Engineering position calls for a candidate with knowledge of electrical principles and practices. This engineer will be responsible for applying broad electrical engineering knowledge to analyze data and develop solutions for technical issues under the guidance of a Senior Electrical Engineer. The position involves contributing to both single‑discipline and multidisciplinary projects and collaborating closely with electrical design teams. The role requires independent work under Senior Electrical Engineering supervision.
Responsibilities also include preparing scopes of work and providing input to project schedules.
- Demonstrate awareness and commitment to health, safety and environmental issues. Address issues as necessary to ensure zero harm to all employees, clients, contractors and other stakeholders with zero environmental incidents.
- Consistently achieve goals, delivering quality and accurate work and meeting project schedules.
- Assembly of electrical engineering, drawing and construction work packages for review and approval, including one‑line diagrams, wiring schematics and other required deliverables.
- Under the direction of a Senior Electrical Engineer perform load calculations, voltage drop, conduit/cable sizing, lighting and grounding design.
- Create technical specifications and scope development for electrical equipment and modifications.
- Prepare material requisitions for bids, perform technical bid evaluation and respond to vendor submittals.
- Attend Eichleay project team meetings.
- Become familiar with site, global and industry electrical standards and electrical safety, including NEC, IEEE, API, and NFPA 70E and 497.
- Experience:
1 to 5 years in refinery or other oil and gas related industries. - Education:
Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering. - Location:
Based out of our Billings, MT office. Occasional onsite field visits and periodic work from home with supervisor approval. - Skills:
- Coordinate with other disciplines and project management in a team environment.
- Coordinate with vendors.
- Manage schedules.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD/Navis Works;
Revit
MEP experience desired.
- Technical Competence:
- Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, API, and IEEE standards for hazardous locations.
- Proficiency in developing one‑line diagrams, wiring schematics, load calculations, voltage drop, conduit/cable sizing, lighting and grounding design.
- Experience with low and medium voltage systems is desirable.
- Experience in developing electrical specifications and calculations.
- Preferred Skills /
Experience:- Working toward passing the Fundamentals of Engineering exam is expected.
- Experience working onsite at a refinery or similar industrial facility.
- Collaboration:
Foster collaborative relationships within Eichleay and with clients and partners. - Travel:
Occasionally travel to Eichleay offices and client sites across the Western US (up to 25%). - Industry Requirements:
This role may require all or some of the following requirements at time of hire or during employment:- RSO Safety Training and current card or ability to obtain.
- Client Safety Training and current badge or ability to obtain.
- TWIC Certification and current card or ability to obtain.
- Background screening including previous employment, education, criminal history, and driving record verification.
- Participation in random drug and alcohol program.
