PositionSummary
McCormick Taylor has an immediate opening for a Transportation Engineer III to join our Mount Laurel, NJ Transportation Department. Projects may include roadway improvements, intersection design, ADA design, bicycle facility design, site improvements, transit facilities, as well as field visits and inspections. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative team environment. We are seeking an individual who can handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work well in a hybrid remote office environment.
Strong written, interpersonal and oral communication skills, attention to detail and ability to organize are required.
- Support design efforts and work under the direction of project managers
- Develop design solutions on a variety of roadway and transportation design projects, geometric design, including conceptual, preliminary, right‑of‑way, and final construction documents
- Perform horizontal and vertical alignment designs
- Understand roadway design elements, standards and constructability methods
- Work independently on engineering assignments
- Direct entry‑level staff and technicians
- Assist with design and plans development
- Assist with scheduling and estimating while generating work for others
- Complete final design projects for large and small‑scale public transportation improvement projects
- Work effectively with clients, including Federal, State, and local agencies
- Develop project management and budgeting skills
- 8 to 15+ years of experience in the design of highway/roadway, civil engineering and transportation
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering;
Master’s is a plus - Professional Engineer (PE) Certification required
- Experience with NJDOT and NJTA preferred
- Strong communication and technical writing skills
- Working knowledge of Micro Station, AutoCAD, InRoads, and Open Roads is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite
