Position ResponsibilitiesThis position will lead electrical project in industrial settings. It will be responsible for all aspects of the engineering design oversight and project management of multiple complex utility projects. Responsibilities include the preparation of electrical protection and control and physical layout design; ownership of the project scope, schedule & budget; and interface and coordination of other disciplines including communications, civil & structural, project/program management, permitting, and contractor coordination & construction support as needed to successfully execute and develop deliverables for high and extra-high voltage (HV and EHV).
Some travel will be required as clients may be both domestic and international. This role will be responsible for leading and mentoring more junior engineers, drafters, and other positions, but will not have direct employee management responsibilities. Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Assignments will be varied and can include such items as equipment selection and specification preparation, calculations, single line diagram definition, grounding, arc flash studies, power plans distribution, vendor technical management, etc.
- Prepare/Review calculations and equipment specifications
- Execute complex assignments requiring the use of advanced techniques, resulting in the development of new or improved processes, equipment and/or technological methods.
- Provide leadership, guidance and instruction to less experienced staff members. Regularly meets and corresponds with clients or outside personnel
- The position will require an ability to make independent decisions on engineering problems and methods, define options, and articulate the best solution(s) to the team
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years experience in industrial projects
- English Proficiency, written and verbal
- Master's Degree
- PE or chartered engineer license
- Spanish Proficiency, written and verbal
- Proficiency with National Electrical Safety Code & IEEE / ANSI Standards
- Advanced knowledge of power systems protection, low-medium voltage engineering, underground systems, cables selection and routing, grounding, lightning shielding is preferred
- $110k - $140k per year, depending on all candidate factors; such as qualifications, experience level, etc.
