. This position is available at any location in the United States, ideally where you are near a Jacobs U.S. office, but we aim to hire the best candidates. It is an on-site role at our Baton Rouge, LA site, but remote work is also possible under our hybrid policy.

OverviewAt Jacobs, we’re transforming intangible ideas into innovative solutions for data center clients. The Sr VDC Coordinator will lead the design and implementation of wireless telecommunications systems, working closely with BIM designers, clients, and vendors to deliver high quality, on‑time projects.
Responsibilities- Preliminary assessments
- Concept creation
- Leading designs with support from peers, SMEs, and BIM designers
- Internal and external problem resolution
- Drawing and specification production
- Customer and vendor accessibility
- Designing wireless systems in iBwave and EDX
- Coordination with BIM designers to create drawing packages
- Coordination with AHJ’s, radio system owners, and carriers
- DIV 27 specification creation or modification
- Conducting site visits
- Reviewing technical documents
- Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Technical or associate’s degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum 5 years’ experience actively designing wireless telecommunications systems (LMR 2-way radio, public safety DAS, commercial DAS, etc.)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with iBwave, EDX, Atoll, LMR Planner, or a combination of 5 years’ experience with different modeling programs
- Experience working with clients to identify wireless communications needs
- Experience troubleshooting wireless communication system issues from field teams
- Knowledge of noise floor, SNIR, return loss, VSWR, NFPA 72, 1221, 1225, IFC section 510, carrier KPIs, IBC, FCC parts 20 & 90, FCC OET Bulletin 65, MOTOTRBO systems, Motorola R56 installation standards, DMR Tier III, and Navisworks
- Self‑motivation for coordination with other disciplines, project managers, and clients
- Excellent project management skills
- Familiarity with responding to RFPs
- Experience creating project budgets, schedules, and risk mitigation plans
- iBwave Level 2 Certification (required)
- Experience designing Wi‑Fi systems
- EDX or Motorola design certifications
- FCC GROL certification
- NICET Design Certification
- Multiple OEM product certifications
- Electrical Engineering or Communication Engineering degree
- EIT or PE
