Sr NEPA Planner
Consor Engineers is seeking an experienced NEPA Planner to support transportation and infrastructure projects across Utah, primarily with UDOT and federal‑aid highway work. The role is ideal for someone experienced in NEPA/CEQA who enjoys leading documentation, agency coordination, and mentoring junior staff, with the option to grow into a leadership position over time.
What You’ll Do- Lead development of NEPA documentation (Cat Ex, EA, EIS) for transportation and infrastructure projects.
- Coordinate technical studies (biological, cultural, water resources, noise, air quality, land use).
- Navigate regulatory processes with UDOT, FHWA, BLM, USACE, USFS, and Utah DEQ.
- Prepare environmental impact analyses, permitting documents, and supporting reports.
- Participate in public and stakeholder meetings, hearings, and agency coordination.
- Contribute to proposal writing, scope development, and client support.
- Mentor junior planners and collaborate with engineers, project managers, and field teams.
- 5+ years of NEPA/environmental planning experience, preferably in transportation or infrastructure.
- Strong working knowledge of federal and Utah environmental regulations.
- Proven experience with agency coordination and technical documentation.
- Excellent writing, organization, and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental planning, environmental science, natural resources, or a related field.
This hybrid position involves both office and field work. Typical demands include frequent sitting, moving, standing, talking, hearing, and occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, and grasping. The job may require operating a company vehicle and lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs.
