Transportation Engineer – McCormick Taylor, Inc.
Position SummaryMcCormick Taylor is seeking a qualified Transportation Engineer to join our Fort Myers, FL or Tampa, FL location. Given our corporate hybrid work policy and remote work flexibility, we would entertain candidates from a variety of locations within Florida with relationships focused in the Southwest Florida region and FDOT District 1 and 7. Candidates should have a detailed understanding of transportation engineering projects, planning, analysis and design for Southwest FL Counties, Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and the Florida Turnpike Enterprise.
Responsibilities- Work directly with our FL Team which is focused on planning, analysis and design of highway and traffic engineering projects and structures.
- Support existing client relationships, as well as research and develop/expand the client base.
- Aid in proposal writing/preparation and marketing and outreach efforts.
- Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering
- A FL Professional Engineer license highly preferred, EIT required
- 10+ years’ experience in a similar position
- Highway/roadway/traffic design experience with direct experience/relationships with FDOT and FTE including design criteria, standards and procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well autonomously and with limited supervision
- Ability to effectively communicate thoughts and ideas to internal staff and clients
