Job Overview

Jacobs is hiring for a VDC Lead in the Advanced Manufacturing Group. This site‑based role—flexible for a home office within the U.S.—is responsible for managing and optimizing our digital delivery processes for electric vehicle, data center, consumer goods, metals, pulp and paper, and related markets.

In this key position, you will provide VDC/BIM/Digital Delivery management and leadership by aligning technologies with internal and client goals. You will define digital delivery scope for project estimates, coordinate project technical setup and model deliverables, and create and implement Design and Construction BIM Execution Plans for EPCM projects. Your day‑to‑day activities will include integrating VDC tasks such as 3‑D logistics, safety planning, 4‑D scheduling, and 5‑D cost and quantity take‑offs;

administering the Common Data Environment (Autodesk Construction Cloud); managing Clash Detection and clash‑resolution meetings; serving as a BIM Subject Matter Expert; leading laser scan data integration; and overseeing as‑built and redline processes. You will also facilitate reality capture, provide mobile‑device training, and support on‑site technical troubleshooting. Collaboration with stakeholders, participation in business development, and mentoring team members are further responsibilities.

• Lead digital delivery processes and BIM execution for construction projects.
• Coordinate VDC tasks, including 3‑D logistics, safety, scheduling, cost, and quantity take‑offs.
• Administer the Common Data Environment from design through construction.
• Manage clash detection, clash‑resolution meetings, and as‑built validation.
• Provide leadership in laser scanning, point‑cloud data management, and reality capture.
• Train field personnel on mobile device use and model‑based construction practices.
• Offer on‑site technical troubleshooting and software support.
• Collaborate with clients, representatives, and contractors during proposals and estimates.
• Develop training materials, support team development, and mentor employees.
• Maintain daily on‑site presence and coordinate VDC activities with field operations.

• At least 7 years of experience in VDC/BIM roles within the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of BIM technologies and their application in manufacturing environments.
• Proficiency in BIM software (Revit, Navisworks, Revizto) and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
• Experience with laser scanning and point‑cloud data management.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
• Proven track record of on‑site leadership of VDC activities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment on a project site and virtually.
• Experience in developing and implementing BIM execution plans.
• Strong understanding of construction processes and MEP systems.
• Willingness to work on site at a project near Baton Rouge, LA.

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
