Bechtel is partnering with Next Decade to support their vision of providing lower‑carbon energy through the Rio Grande LNG (RGLNG) project in Brownsville, Texas. RGLNG is a natural gas liquefaction and export terminal situated on a 984‑acre site on the banks of the Brownsville ship channel. The first phase consists of three liquefaction trains, two storage tanks, and one marine berth, with a full‑capacity five‑train facility projected to produce 27 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).
Job SummaryIn this role, you will work with the project team to prepare schedule data for proposals or contract negotiations. You will apply established unit job hour and pricing data, perform schedule integrations, prepare work logic, identify restraints and potential impacts, develop recovery plans, and evaluate subcontractor schedules for improvements to ensure projects stay on track and on time.
Major Responsibilities- Prepare schedule data for proposals or contract negotiations
- Establish and maintain the schedule for a specific discipline area or specialty
- Develop the work breakdown structure (WBS), determine work activity durations, establish workflow logic ties, and develop required job expenditures
- Monitor schedules, identify critical activities, and update functions for specific applications or disciplines
- Develop critical path schedule reports and performance metrics
- Determine critical‑path activities for assigned disciplines or specialty work supporting interdisciplinary requirements
- Identify and report activities that have a critical or potential impact on the schedule
- Monitor and validate subcontractor schedules
- Evaluate subcontractor schedules for required workarounds or potential schedule improvements
- Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 8–10 years of relevant experience OR 12–14 years of relevant work experience
- Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing planning and scheduling functions, including schedule development, control, and analysis, in the field and home office
- Knowledge of supervision, personnel administration, and training of technical and non‑technical personnel
- Skilled in oral and written communication
- Proficiency with PC operating systems and basic software applications
- Proficiency with multiple discipline‑specific software applications currently used by Bechtel (e.g., PCWorks, Primavera, Microsoft Project)
- Intermediate knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes as performed by Bechtel
- Knowledge of engineering and construction management acquired through specialized instruction or practical experience
