OverviewJacobs is seeking an Automation Specialist Manager to lead and manage automation teams across the United States. The role focuses on two primary regions – supporting the existing workload in the East and driving growth in the West – ensuring operational excellence and maintaining high standards for SCADA/OT systems within the OMFS business.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and guide automation specialists across multiple regions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Plan project work and schedule team members to meet deadlines and deliver quality results.
- Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members.
- Develop and strengthen relationships with West Region managers and project managers.
- Identify and secure new work opportunities in the West Region.
- Collaborate with East Region teams to support completion of scheduled projects.
- Drive initiatives that enhance efficiency and reliability of automation systems.
- Ensure alignment with Jacobs’ mission to deliver secure, practical technology solutions for water and wastewater facilities.
- Act as partner for local integrators to complete projects, including handing work over, monitoring, tracking, and receiving hand-offs for team management.
- Travel across the United States 25–50% of the time; this is a hybrid position, working from home and traveling to projects.
- 5+ years in automation, SCADA systems, and OT environments.
- Proven leadership experience managing multi‑regional teams and complex projects.
- Expertise in PLC programming, SCADA development, and control system design.
- Experience with networking and industrial cybersecurity.
- Strong organizational, communication, and relationship‑building abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license with no major infractions.
