Overview
Jacobs is seeking an experienced Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) Lead for our Advanced Manufacturing group. The role is site‑based in the U.S. with flexible home office options. The successful candidate will lead digital delivery processes, align BIM technologies with project goals, and drive collaboration across design, construction, and client teams.
Responsibilities- Lead VDC/BIM and digital delivery management for EPCM projects.
- Create and implement BIM Execution Plans, 3D logistics, 4D scheduling, 5D cost and quantity take‑offs.
- Administer and manage a Common Data Environment (Autodesk Construction Cloud) from design to construction.
- Coordinate clash detection, leading resolution meetings and ensuring accurate model data.
- Serve as BIM subject‑matter expert during design and construction, providing training and support for field personnel.
- Manage laser scan data integration, reality capture, and as‑built procedures.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and trade partners on modeling quality and construction processes.
- Develop and deliver training materials, mentor team members, and support hiring and knowledge transfer.
- Maintain daily on‑site presence, coordinate VDC activities with field operations, and own onsite VDC processes.
- Minimum 7 years of VDC/BIM experience in construction.
- Strong knowledge of BIM technologies and manufacturing‑specific application.
- Proficiency with Revit, Navisworks, Revizto, and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- Experience with laser scanning, point‑cloud data, and reality capture.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proven track record of onsite VDC leadership and virtual collaboration.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, site‑and‑remote environment.
- Experience developing and implementing BIM execution plans.
- Understanding of construction processes and MEP systems.
- Working knowledge of trade shop model coordination and field BIM tools.
- Will work on site near Baton Rouge, LA (preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
