We’re seeking a technical, relationship-driven sales engineer with deep knowledge of the electrical utility industry. In this role, you’ll bridge the gap between engineering and sales - helping utilities and customers see the true value of ductile iron over competing materials.

• Self-motivated, flexible, and able to set your own schedule
• Skilled at building trust and long-term relationships

• Lead failure analysis, specification review, and competitive/TCO analysis
• Provide technical expertise and answer complex customer questions
• Develop white papers, test documents, and training resources
• Partner with sales and marketing to deliver impactful product training
• Lead quality testing and support new product development efforts
• Promote ductile iron poles as the superior alternative to wood or concrete
• Represent the company by joining industry committees and presenting at conferences

• First 3 months:
  Learn product line, shadow customer meetings, build internal relationships.
• 6 months:
  Independently lead technical discovery calls, support key deals, provide product feedback.
• 12 months:
  Recognized as a trusted expert - driving revenue influence, improving sales processes, and representing the company at industry events.

Required:

• Bachelor’s in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
• 5+ years’ power utility experience
• Experience with testing, quality, and modeling software (e.g., PLS)
• Skilled presenter with proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Ability to travel; valid driver’s license
• May work remotely with regular visits to home office

Preferred:

• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• 10+ years in the utility or pole industry
• Familiarity with multiple pole materials (wood, concrete, composite)
• Experience with PLS & Pole Foreman software
