What Your Day Will Look Like:

We are seeking a Bridge EIT Design Engineer to join our Phoenix office. This junior-level role offers hands‑on experience in bridge and structural design
, including planning, analysis, and construction support for transportation infrastructure projects. You’ll collaborate with senior engineers and gain exposure to steel, concrete, and prestressed bridge systems
.

What You’ll Do:
  • Apply structural engineering and detailing techniques in the development of bridge designs.
  • Assist with design calculations, load ratings, and geometric layouts for bridges and related structures.
  • Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for bridge projects.
  • Develop structural details using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and specialized bridge design software
    .
  • Participate in bridge inspections and rehabilitation design
    .
  • Review shop drawings and provide field technical support during construction.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications
    .
What You’ll Need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
    ; familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D
    , and structural analysis tools.
  • Strong understanding of bridge design principles
    , including steel and concrete structures.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
Other skills (not required):
  • Experience or coursework in structural analysis and bridge design software (LEAP Bridge, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, MIDAS Civil, SAP
    2000, CSiBridge).
  • Knowledge of Bentley Open Bridge Designer and Open Bridge Modeler
    .
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu and MathCAD
    .

This hybrid job operates between an office environment and a field environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones and copy machines. May require occasional exposure to work environments that may include inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazard, atmospheric conditions, and bodies of water, depending on project requirements.

While performing the duties of this job, physical demands of the employee include frequent sitting, moving, standing, talking, hearing, and occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling. This job may occasionally require operating a company vehicle, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs.
