Substation Manager; Onsite

Estimated Duration: 12+ months with possible extensions. Work Setting: 100% of the time at the Client’s site. No telecommuting or remote work. This is a non-negotiable requirement from the client.

• Availability to work 100% of the time at the Client’s site in King, TX (required)
• Experience prioritizing and enforcing safety protocols on the job site, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards
• Experience performing inspections, maintaining QA/QC documents, and auditing construction quality, ensuring adherence to standards and specifications
• Experience leading and managing construction, including monitoring tasks, providing feedback, and resolving conflicts
• Experience with electrical schematics, mechanical, civil, and steel structural drawings
• Experience in safety regulations and practices, including the ability to identify and mitigate hazards
• Experience in concrete work, flat foundations, drill piers, breaker pads, and GSU containment pits
• Experience in material procurement and material take-offs
• Experience resolving requests for information (RFI) and change orders
• Experience working safely near equipment energized at hazardous voltage levels
• Experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, Project) and potentially specialized software for substation construction

• Prioritize and enforce safety protocols on the job site
• Reviewing projects after completion and reporting successes, lessons learned, and opportunities for improvement
• Promoting open communication with direct reports to enhance teamwork and report issues
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project effectiveness
• Maintain detailed records of construction activities, progress reports, and safety inspections
• Work with EPC to resolve RFIs and change orders
• Support commissioning efforts through energization
