The OpportunityAre you ready to play a key role in delivering complex engineering solutions for major infrastructure projects? We're expanding our team and seeking a Principal Engineer to join a leading organisation working on high-profile projects across the UK and overseas. This is an Outside IR35 contract offering remote working flexibility, giving you the freedom to work from home while contributing to technically challenging projects.
Yourduties and responsibilities
- Act as Principal Engineer, preparing design documentation as requested by Lead Engineers.
- Supervise, prepare, check, and approve design work in accordance with company procedures.
- Ensure engineering activities are executed within budget and schedule while maintaining technical integrity.
- Maintain compliance with relevant codes, standards, and procedures.
- Implement company and client/project policies and remain abreast of legislative requirements.
- Conduct short-term visits to UK and overseas sites for client liaison, surveys, and supervision.
- Ensure Health, Safety, and Environmental responsibilities are met in line with company and client requirements.
- Degree, HNC, or HND in Civil/Structural Engineering or related discipline.
- Chartered Civil and/or Structural Engineer.
- Significant experience in Temporary Works Design (e.g., working platforms, cofferdams, retaining walls, scaffold/access, demolition, formwork/falsework, steelwork, and concrete design).
- Strong knowledge of design and construction with a pragmatic approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience in nuclear or major infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with UK regulatory frameworks and client-side liaison.
Remote working with occasional UK and overseas travel to support project needs. Outside IR35 contract.
