Jacobs is seeking a dynamic Instrumentation Automation SCADA Specialist to support our water and wastewater facilities across the Northeast Region
. Your role will support the Operational Technology Manager and the Regional Services Group to provide world‑class OT services that enable the daily treatment of more than 1.7 billion gallons of water and the protection of water resources throughout the region.
- Travel to projects throughout the region
- Configure, commission, and maintain Control Panels, PLCs, and SCADA systems
- Support the installation of Control Panels, PLCs, & SCADA servers and workstations
- Troubleshoot process control and SCADA communication issues
- Perform remote work from home or local facilities, monitoring assets and identifying maintenance needs
- Assist with troubleshooting process control issues and applying minor updates to existing SCADA & PLC systems
- Work with facility managers to identify technology needs and develop improvement plans
- Document existing infrastructure and collaborate with other disciplines on equipment installation, startup, and commissioning
- Configure equipment to meet process control and resiliency standards
- Manage SCADA user accounts and access controls
- Work overtime or outside the regular schedule when required
- General office equipment (telephone, copier, PC/laptop)
- Industrial control equipment (VFDs, PLCs, HMIs, embedded devices, radios)
- Servers, switches, routers, and other network equipment
- Hand tools, power tools, ladders, and test equipment
- A principled person who exudes integrity, curiosity, & empathy
- 5+ years of experience in control system design, PLC programming, & SCADA development
- Solid technical foundation focusing on electrical and/or control system design
- Estimated 50 % travel throughout the Northeast Region required
- Valid driver’s license with no major infractions and a REAL as required by TSA for travel
- Visionary outlook with long‑term planning skills
- Relevant SCADA & PLC OEM certifications or training
- Background in networking or information systems management
- Additional skills such as automotive repair, mechanical skills, or manufacturing knowledge
