In this role, you will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of exciting tasks, including:
- Data Analysis:
Analyze data from radar tests to evaluate functionality, diagnose issues, and recommend enhancements. This will often involve developing custom methods and techniques tailored to specific challenges. - Collaborative Design:
Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to design and qualify electrical components, making informed technical decisions that shape the direction of our projects. - Algorithm Development:
Create and refine algorithms for signal processing in radar and communication systems, contributing to the advancement of cutting‑edge technologies. - Technical Presentations:
Present and defend your approaches and results at technical reviews, showcasing your expertise and insights to stakeholders.
Due to the nature of the job, the selected candidate must be able to work onsite.
Salary Range$99,400 - $193,600
* Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of directly relevant education and engineering or scientific experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform independent research and development.
- The ability to acquire and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.
The ideal R&D S&E Microwave and Sensor Engineering candidate for Sandia National Laboratories will in addition possess the following:
- Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or a highly related field where an independent research project was a graduation requirement (e.g., independent project, thesis, or dissertation).
- Laboratory skills and knowledge of RF and digital test equipment.
- Knowledge of RF, Digital Communications, Electronic Warfare, and Cyber Security systems and principles.
- Ability to work successfully in a dynamic, interdisciplinary, teaming environment.
Also, for this posting we are seeking individuals with the following experience:
- A solid background in radar systems and signal processing techniques.
- Proficiency in MATLAB or equivalent programming/analysis languages for data analysis and algorithm development.
- Awareness of radar hardware components, testing, and assembly methods.
- Experience in transitioning data processing algorithms to hardware implementations.
- Familiarity with processing large and complex datasets.
- Familiarity with ND systems and performance analysis.
- Experience in effectively communicating complex technical issues to customers and stakeholders.
- An active DOE Q-level security clearance.
