OverviewJoin Jacobs as an Intermediate Engineer in the Energy & Power business. Work on electrical transmission and distribution projects across North America, supporting major renewable energy projects, electrification programs, and grid capacity expansion. Deliver conceptual studies, Front‑End Engineering Design (FEED), and detailed design while consulting directly with clients.
Responsibilities- Build strong client relationships and attend client meetings.
- Perform siting, routing, and constructability evaluations for utility routes.
- Coordinate GIS/CAD professionals to prepare maps and drawings.
- Research utility maps and as‑built records to identify conflicts.
- Prepare technical drawings and engineering reports.
- Gather field data and conduct surveys.
- Prepare calculations, design plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Review design documents and coordinate across disciplines.
- Assist with proposals and business development.
- Support inclusive culture and mentoring opportunities.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, electrical, or environmental engineering.
- PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year.
- Minimum 4 years of engineering design experience for underground or overhead electrical utilities in urban environments.
- Experience with private energy developers and/or utilities.
- Knowledge of Civil3D preferred.
- Familiarity with ampacity and pull load calculations.
- Detail‑oriented, excellent writing skills.
