Position: Equipment Maintenance Technician (Thursday-Friday & alternating Wednesday 7am-7:30pm)

Equipment Maintenance Technician (Thursday‑Friday & alternating Wednesday 7am‑7:30pm)

Join Western Digital as an Equipment Maintenance Technician on a 12‑hour AWS shift to support a class 100 cleanroom wafer manufacturing line. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot unscheduled failures, and collaborate with equipment engineers and tool owners.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance per schedule and MMM procedures.
  • Document preventive maintenance on PM checklists and maintain tool logbook history.
  • Troubleshoot & repair routine unscheduled failures, select correct down code.
  • Document failures on Resource Viewer and Forum Notes tracking system.
  • Provide inputs to improve PM cycle‑time, tool availability, and reduce wafer scrap.
  • Provide technical training & certification for maintenance personnel.
  • Support Tool Owner and Equipment Engineer to define/write preventive maintenance procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Technical degree in Engineering or Science field; military experience or semiconductor industry experience acceptable.
  • Excellent mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in wafer fab metrology equipment covering photo, thin‑films, plating, etch, and CMP areas.
  • Ability to read electrical schematic diagrams and assembly drawings.
  • Understanding of failure mechanisms, ability to isolate determine root cause and repair.
  • Proficient in MS Windows software (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook) and Forum Notes.
  • Effective team player with proven cross‑functional communication with Maintenance, Manufacturing, Engineering, Peers, Management, Customers, and Suppliers.
  • Knowledge of control systems and/or PLC (Process Logic Control).
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.
SKILLS
  • Mid‑Level Equipment Maintenance Tech.
  • Experience with UHV e‑Beam systems (FEI CERTUS‑P2, etc.).
  • Optical systems (Archer Overlays, Zygo‑Unifier, etc.).
  • Magnetic metrology systems (BH‑Loopers, MOKE, Capres‑CIPTs, ORM, etc.) preferred.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS DETAILS
  • Pay range may be based on education, experience, geographic location, shift, etc.
  • Salary range applies to positions performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in those states.
  • Eligible for overtime pay and shift differential pay as applicable.
