Our team is seeking a Transportation Engineer for our Bureau of Field Services Team. We are looking for someone who can embrace the challenges of meeting our goals and exceeding the standards!
This position serves as a senior level engineer serving as an engineering resource for the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Operations Section in the Transportation System Management and Operations (TSMO) Division. This position performs assignments in Congestion and Reliability to enable safe, reliable and seamless movement of people, goods, and services through coordinated application of programs, technologies, and business processes by collaborating with public and private partners across modes and jurisdictions to optimize resources and performance.
This position provides operation support to the ITS Operations Section, regions, and Transportation Service Centers (TSC's).
The Salary listed above is a range that reflects the minimum rate at the entry (9) level through the maximum rate at the advanced (12) level. Based on education and experience, candidates will be reviewed to determine what level they are qualified for.

EducationPossession of a bachelor of science degree in engineering.
Possession of a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering preferred.
ExperienceTransportation Engineer 9:
No specific type or amount is required.
Transportation Engineer 10:
One year of professional engineering experience involved in transportation systems and programs equivalent to a Transportation Engineer 9.
Transportation Engineer P11:
Two years of professional engineering experience involved in transportation systems and programs equivalent to a Transportation Engineer, including one year equivalent to a Transportation Engineer 10.
Transportation Engineer 12:
Three years of professional engineering experience involved in transportation systems and programs equivalent to a Transportation Engineer, including one year equivalent to a Transportation Engineer P11.
Transportation Engineer 9 - 12 Possession of a registered professional engineer license as required by the State of Michigan may be substituted for 6 months of experience at the Transportation Engineer 9-12 levels. This substitution may only be used once for any employee for qualification of appointment or early reclassification.
Qualifications- Possess a valid driver's license.

Applicants who possess foreign degrees must have their academic credentials evaluated or converted into U.S. educational equivalents.
