NOTE:

This position may be available for remote work for current or previous NuScale employees or contract personnel. Preference is that work will be based in our Houston, TX office, currently located in Galleria Tower 1.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Program Manager, SMR Product Management is responsible for ensuring success of the SMR product line. This position defines and establishes processes required to successfully manage the SMR product lifecycle and executes the business rhythm needed to achieve program objectives. The programs established align business objectives with ongoing product lifecycle activities, such as developing and updating a product commercialization roadmap, top‑level requirements documents, aligning business needs with product direction, and assessing ongoing viability and profitability of the SMR product.

Because direct authority over resources may be limited, the Program Manager must effectively collaborate and communicate at multiple organizational levels and across boundaries, possessing deep technical knowledge of small modular reactors and the ability to translate that knowledge into broadly consumable information.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Establish the SMR product management program and align it with the company’s overall business goals.
  • Build the business rhythm required to manage the SMR product lifecycle.
  • Stay informed about market trends, competitor products, and customer needs to guide product development decisions.
  • Proactively identify and resolve program issues, escalating challenges within NuScale when necessary.
  • Communicate and align organizational priorities to sustain product viability and profitability.
  • Translate technical issues for a cross‑functional audience in clear, consumable terms.
  • Provide direction and coordinate project‑related activities through engineering leads, supervisors, and managers.
  • Lead individuals and teams without direct positional authority.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES
  • Education
    :
    Minimum of a B.A. or B.S. degree in physical sciences (e.g., physics) or engineering.
  • Experience
    :
    Minimum 10 years of full‑time applicable experience within the nuclear industry, including design or construction of nuclear reactor technology and expert knowledge in modular fabrication, advanced manufacturing, or engineered equipment supply chains. Must be familiar with NRC regulatory frameworks, ASME Section III, 10 CFR 50/52 processes, and nuclear QA programs (NQA‑1).
  • Industry Requirements
    :
    Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
