A leading environmental consultancy is looking for an experienced Principal Air Quality Consultant to join its London team. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior specialist to take ownership of major projects, influence technical strategy, and support the continued growth of the air quality practice across London and the wider UK.

The Role

In this senior position, you will oversee the delivery of complex air quality and emissions modelling projects spanning infrastructure, urban development, transport, and energy.

Working in a hybrid capacity, you will split your time between the London office and remote working, helping to strengthen and expand the consultancy's air quality services across the South East and nationally.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage multi-disciplinary air quality and emissions modelling projects.

Oversee technical outputs, including dispersion modelling (ADMS, AERMOD) and thorough technical reviews.

Produce and sign off Environmental Statement chapters and supporting technical documentation.

Build and maintain strong client relationships; support business development and the preparation of proposals.

Mentor and provide technical direction to junior team members.

Represent the consultancy in meetings with clients, regulators, and planning authorities.

About You

At least 6 years' experience in air quality consultancy or a related regulatory environment.

In-depth understanding of IAQM/EPUK guidance and relevant UK environmental legislation.

Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Geography, or a related discipline.

Chartered status (CEnv or IAQM) is desirable.

Strong leadership, communication, and project management abilities.

Full UK driving licence.
