Job DescriptionSr. Civil Engineer – Louisville, KY. Hybrid work model combining office and local home office. This role directly supports transformational projects, including the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor project, a major highway infrastructure effort spanning Ohio River between Cincinnati and Covington, Kentucky, with 8 miles of highway improvements. Design has begun and will extend over the coming years, offering multiple career-defining roles on the project.
Responsibilities- Lead engineer on mid- to large‑size projects.
- Business development including prospecting and proposal development with established local client relationships.
- Understand DOT and local agency specifications, policies and procedures.
- Prospect alternative delivery projects, proposals and project procurements.
- Provide specialized technical input to studies and design for staff’s specific area of expertise.
- Approve and sign off on work.
- Present complex technical solutions to clients.
- Perform quality control reviews of work developed by others.
- Participate in development of technical proposals.
- Provide estimates for engineering budget and schedule on large projects.
- Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
- Conduct quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
- Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer license in Kentucky or ability to obtain within six months.
- Computer proficiency in Micro Station and AutoCAD software packages, including Open Roads Designer.
- Ability to proactively communicate and lead department staff.
Offered rate based on education, qualifications, experience and location. Compensation range: $125,000 to $150,000 per year.
