Position Summary
This role will be working in a manufacturing facility and reporting to the plant Safety Manager. This position will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of new safety projects and programs and ensuring a safe work environment for all employees.

A Day In The Life
- Starting each morning with a walk through the plant to ensure that all employees have the tools and resources to have a safe and productive day.
- Working alongside the production team to ensure that all safety guidelines are met by auditing and doing departmental checks throughout the day.
- Leading safety training and retraining to ensure each employee is empowered with the understanding of their role in the safety at the plant.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Report to the plant Safety Manager and perform tasks as directed with the highest level of transparency.
- Assist in development and implementation of new safety projects and programs.
- Develop and maintain all training programs and safeguards for new equipment/process.
- Research and procure items needed for plant safety improvements.
- Organize and maintain all new hire safety training and compliance acknowledgments.
- Conduct and maintain all annual training, including forklift driving certifications, first-aid certifications, LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) certifications, etc.
- Understand and reference all applicable OSHA regulations.
- Ensure plant is OSHA compliant.
- Familiarity with all other AHJ (Authorities Having Jurisdiction) is imperative to maintain applicable compliance (NFPA, ANSI, NEC, NIOSH, etc.).
- Enforce compliance of PPE and all other safe work practices to promote a positive and lasting Safety Culture.
