Traffic​/Engineer – REMOTE

We seek a Traffic or ITS Engineer to work remotely supporting projects across the Greater Midwest and Greater Southwest. This role delivers impactful local and regional work and offers a dynamic team that wins high‑profile projects.

• Support a team to deliver traffic analysis, forecasting, safety studies, simulation, and conceptual planning/design.
• Prepare plans, specifications, estimates, technical memoranda, reports, and presentations.
• Lead ITS or emerging technology projects following the systems engineering process.
• Serve in various roles on traffic/ITS projects and produce technical deliverables.
• Review Early‑Career staff technical work and project documentation.
• Deliver tasks on schedule and budget while adhering to AECOM quality standards.
• Coordinate with other disciplines, external clients, and sub‑consultants.
• Perform work in accordance with agreed budget and schedule with minimal supervision.
• Independently complete primary design elements for engineering works.
• Coordinate with Business Development leaders to capture project opportunities.

• BA/BS and 6 years of relevant experience (equivalency of experience and/or education).
• Professional Engineering (PE) License or Professional Traffic Operations Engineering (PTOE) License.

• 7 years of experience emphasizing civil engineering fields such as traffic control design, traffic studies, ITS engineering, traffic staging within Agency and DOT standards and projects.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience using traffic simulation software and design platforms.
• Ability to work as a member of a team or perform independent work as required.
• Strong interpersonal skills, command of English, time‑management skills, and a positive attitude toward work.
