Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking a well-qualified Traffic or ITS Engineer to work remotely supporting many different offices across the Greater Midwest and Greater Southwest. These roles will be highly rewarding and highly impactful locally as well across the region and are a great opportunity to join a dynamic team that continues to win high profile projects and shape the communities around us.
We are specifically looking for applicants that can support remote operations and growth in Wisconsin, Montana, Wyoming, North and South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, Utah, Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Indiana, Ohio, New Mexico and Idaho.
- Support a team of professionals to deliver traffic analysis, forecasting, safety studies, traffic simulation, and conceptual planning/design.
- Prepare plan sheets, specifications & estimates, technical memoranda, reports, presentations, and other project documentation.
- Develop ITS or emerging technology projects following the systems engineering process.
- Serve in various roles on traffic/ITS projects.
- Actively participate in the team’s production of technical deliverables such as plans, specifications, estimates, reports, memorandums, etc.
- Work with Early in Career staff and help review technical work and project documentation.
- Deliver assigned tasks on schedule and budget, while adhering to AECOM quality standards.
- Coordinate directly with other discipline groups within AECOM, as well as with external clients and sub-consultants.
- Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
- Independently perform all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.
- Coordinate with Business Development leaders to capture project opportunities.
- BA/BS and 6 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and experience.
- Professional Engineering (PE) License or Professional Traffic Operations Engineering (PTOE) License.
- Minimum 7 years of experience with an emphasis in civil engineering fields such as traffic control design, traffic studies, ITS engineering, traffic staging within agency and DOT standards and projects.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using traffic and traffic simulation software and design platforms.
- Ability to work as a member of a team or perform independent work as required.
- Strong interpersonal skills, command of the English language, good time management skills, and a positive attitude toward work.
