Mission Technologies, a division of HII, invites you to join our Simulation, Modeling, and Training team at the Joint Integrated Test and Training Center – Nellis (JITTC‑N). In this role you will serve as a Variable Air Threat Simulator (VATS) Fighter Subject Matter Expert (SME), operating the VATS simulator to support the USAF Weapons School, operational test units, and deployed combat squadrons.

• Operate VATS fighter simulator cockpit controls, including digital cockpit displays, stick & throttle, advanced sensor integration, fusion, and multi‑aircraft formations.
• Act as Mission Director or Red Czar as required by scenario.
• Operate the simulator console and debriefing system during and after missions.
• Provide subject matter expertise on threat air tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP) during planning and execution of JITTC‑N operations.
• Support development, coordination, and integration of JITTC‑N events to maximize training value.
• Orchestrate scenarios and provide constructive inputs for training events.
• Create and modify mission‑planning materials and academics to ensure participants achieve maximum training outcomes.
• Deliver instructor‑level expertise to shape tactical training for participants.
• Report issues related to simulation software applications and provide basic troubleshooting support.
• Lead small teams to achieve desired customer requirements.

• 15+ years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13+ years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19+ years relevant experience.
• Current or previous military fighter pilot.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Must be capable of working morning and evening shifts; remote work not eligible.
• Must have had an active Top Secret clearance within the last 24 months.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI clearance with relevant SAP/SAR clearance.

• Fifth generation fighter aircraft and system experience.
• Weapons School graduate.
• Aggressor pilot experience.
• Current or previous Instructor Pilot or Flight Evaluator.
• Experience in Joint Simulation Environment (JSE).
• Experience with NGTS.
