About the Integrated Transport Planning (ITP) GroupITP is Haskoning’s UK‑focused transport planning and engineering design advisory group. It works with clients accelerating sustainable mobility, energy transitions, and climate change mitigation.
Role SummaryThe Senior/Principal Transport Planner will bring enthusiasm, people skills, and excellent capabilities in report writing, research, analysis, and business case development to accelerate sustainable transport initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience- Solid consultancy background with strong record in delivering transport policy and strategy projects for UK public sector clients.
- Strong technical capability, especially in preparing evidence‑based business cases for sustainable transport schemes.
- Experience conducting research that generates meaningful insights to inform people‑focused transport networks.
- Proven ability to work with stakeholders to secure investment in sustainable transport solutions.
- Strong understanding of UK transport policy and current sector challenges.
- Effective project and task management, delivering work to agreed scope and budget.
- Skilled at building and maintaining client relationships, identifying opportunities to secure new work.
- Expanding network of industry contacts and positive client feedback.
- Clear and confident communication in written and verbal formats, adapting style to different audiences.
- Relevant professional qualification.
- Active contribution to the wider profession, including:
- Engaging in professional bodies, working groups, or industry forums.
- Sharing knowledge through presentations, publications, or thought leadership.
- Keeping up to date with emerging trends, technologies, and best practice.
- Supporting development of industry standards or contributing to policy debates.
- Mentoring colleagues and early‑career professionals.
