New Production Development Engineer (Entry Level)

- Design and develop new products for the aerospace industry, advancing product families from concept to detailed design.
- Analyze research data, prior art and specifications to define the design space and validate designs.
- Collaborate with research personnel to resolve problems and validate designs.
- Prepare invention reports and documentation required to file and prosecute patents.
- Prepare or coordinate product and system layout and detailed drawings.
- Coordinate prototype construction and experimental test programs.
- Analyze test data and report on design performance and functional specifications.
- Use computer-assisted engineering and design software to design products and simulate performance.
- Work under the direction of a Senior Engineer or Engineering Manager to manage new product development projects from concept to verification and validation.
- Master of Science degree (MS) in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 6 months of experience in design, development, research and/or testing (including internships and project experience).
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- Position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee or Refugee).
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Experience with MATLAB/numerical computing tools.
- Experience in design and manufacturing industry.
- CAD design/modeling tools (preferred Solid Works).
- Finite Element Analysis, statics and dynamics.
- Strength of materials (metallurgy), heat treatment, coatings.
- Exposure to manufacturing processes that may include forging, machining, stamping and assembly.
