- Dry Type Position Overview
In a custom-designed, engineered-to-order manufacturing environment, apply transformer engineering support and knowledge in the definition, design, development, and testing of a wide range of transformers. Responsible for giving the project team technical support and plans to accomplish the goals and objectives of the project.
A. Responsibilities and DutiesDrawing review; coordinate and lead project progress with the factory and customer from the engineer’s point of view. Assist in the customization of standardized products based on projects and customer needs to provide the best user experience.
Drive timely drawings submittals and returns for manufacturing release from customers.
Work directly with customers either by telephone, electronically, or in person.
For large-scale, high-profile, or high complexity; will have to be responsible as project manager for up to 90% of the job.
Assist in answering technical questions from customers, sales managers, or sales reps.
Leading FAT (factory acceptance test) virtually or in person. Be knowledgeable about the product and tests to answer all questions from customers.
Handling quality issues, after-sales support, or customer complaints with different departments. When necessary, must travel to the site to handle after-sales, discuss the product with all users, and assist in solving product technical problems.
Plant support with upstart, technical transfer, and organization.
B. Qualifications and SkillsKnowledge of mechanical drawing and electrical schematics
Ability to travel, up to once every month. Could be domestic in the US or internationally.
Computer software expertise, including Excel, AutoCAD, Solid Works, & SAP / CRM tools.
Excellent analytic problem-solving skills.
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment while juggling multiple competing duties.
Strong work ethics and professional commitment.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Familiar with IEEE standard (IEEE C57.12.01/C57.12.91/UL1562)
C.Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a relevant engineering field from an accredited institution.
2-5 years in transformer manufacturing, design, or application engineering.
Previous experience in marketing, manufacturing, or operations is a plus.
Direct experience working with transformers– pads or dry type
