Network Transport & Circuit Grooming Engineer

Title: Network Transport & Circuit Grooming Engineer (Remote, USA)

Base Pay: $50.00 – $55.00 per hour (W‑2 candidates only).

Seeking an experienced telecom engineer to remotely prepare, test, groom, and provision customer circuits. The role involves validating migration pathways, executing safe traffic cutovers, and supporting network decommissions, augments, and capacity builds. The engineer partners with onsite technicians for pathway verification and traffic migration, delivers escalations and approvals, tracks event status, and maintains inventory database integrity. All deployments are 100% remote (anywhere in the USA).
The position is a contract assignment.

• Prep, test, groom, and provision customer circuits.
• Validate migration pathways and execute customer‑safe traffic cutovers
  .
• Support network decommissions, augments, and capacity builds
  .
• Partner with onsite techs for pathway verification and traffic migration
  .
• Deliver escalations, approvals, and KIRKE/KIRKE event tracking
  .
• Maintain inventory database integrity and provisioning records.
• Provide updates to planning, operations, and stakeholders to remove delivery blockers
  .

• 8+ years of telecom network provisioning & grooming experience.
• Layer 1 transport mastery
  : TDM‑Copper (DS0/DS1/DS3, PRI, PRI voice trunks).
• Experience with traffic migration + network turn‑downs and proven success in activations, implementations, and central office cutovers.
• Proficiency with BGW, TCOMS, Canvas/CoFEE, CCP, Maintenance Tracker.
• Availability for morning/midnight/night shifts as part of a 24×7 rotation.
• Strong discipline managing complex workflows, risk mitigation, and SLA adherence

• Long‑distance (ULA/ULH) transport experience.
• Equipment familiarity balanced across inventory + circuit design
  .
• Exposure to GIG‑E, 10G/100G/400G/OTN overbuild.
• Proficient in creating specs and system diagrams (Visio, logical network drawings).
• Enjoys autonomous problem‑solving while collaborating cross‑functionally.
