Senior Bridge Engineer – Northwest Bridge Team
Base pay range: $162,000 – $300,000 per year.
As a pivotal member of Jacobs’ Northwest Bridge Team, you will lead bridge projects across the Northwest and nationwide, with a focus on precast segmental and complex bridge design and construction. You will work within a collaborative, multi‑disciplinary environment, applying advanced engineering knowledge and project leadership to deliver high‑quality transportation solutions.
Key Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- Washington PE registration or the ability to obtain registration within one year
- At least 15 years of bridge engineering experience, including substantial precast segmental and complex bridge final design through construction
- Experience on large, multidisciplinary transit and roadway bridge design projects
- Proficiency with various structure types, including precast concrete girders, precast segmental bridges (balanced cantilever and span‑by‑span), and other complex bridges
- Project management and leadership experience
- Strong written and oral communication skills and a team‑oriented attitude
- In‑depth technical knowledge of bridge design standards (AASHTO LRFD, state‑specific guidelines, design in high seismic areas and deep liquefaction)
- Familiarity with FHWA requirements and guidelines
- Willingness to travel occasionally
- Master’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
- Washington SE registration or the ability to obtain registration within one year
- Existing relationships with WSDOT, Sound Transit, or other relevant agencies
- Multi‑faceted experience, including public‑sector project involvement
- At least 20 years of bridge and structural engineering experience, with substantial segmental and complex bridge design and construction, and leadership of design teams
- Alternative delivery project experience (Design‑Build, Progress Design‑Build, Construction Manager/General Contractor)
- Knowledge of WSDOT Standards and the Bridge Design Manual
