About The OpportunityWe are looking for a Civil Engineering Apprentice to join our Rivers team in the Peterborough office. You will work towards achieving a Level 6 qualification at Anglia Ruskin University. The role is part of our Water and Environment Business Unit, which provides advisory services on River Engineering and Flood Risk Management. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver sustainable solutions for water companies, the Environment Agency, SEPA and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities- Designing a Sustainable Drainage System for a new development
- Assessing and designing options for managing flood risk and adapting to climate change
- Assessing the safety of infrastructure on rivers
- Designing and supervising the construction and operation of nationally important flood defence assets
- Contributing to the determination of budgets for the next five years of investment in the water industry
- At least 120 UCAS tariff points, including grade B in A-level Mathematics or equivalent
- An interest in developing a career in civil engineering and water catchment management
- Able to communicate clearly, and willing to develop your writing and speaking skills
- A flexible and proactive self‑starter who’s passionate about developing new skills
- The ability to adapt and prioritise whilst juggling work and study priorities
- Enthusiasm and curiosity to apply your skills to solve real‑world problems
- Empathy and listening skills to help you truly understand our clients’ requirements
- A well‑rounded person – worked in a bar? Been captain of a sports team or volunteered for a charity? Tell us – we’re looking for people with interesting stories and experiences!
- You must have the permanent right to work in the UK
